Sen. Sherrod Brown wants recognition for Pride month

Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown has introduced a bill for the Senate to recognize LGBT Pride month, claiming that President Donald Trump has not done so.

“This year, the White House broke with an 8 year tradition and did not issue a presidential proclamation acknowledging June as Pride Month,” Brown, D-Ohio, said.

According to The Hill, twenty-three other senators are tagged as sponsoring the legislation.

Trump broke with tradition by not recognizing June as LGBT Pride month, but other members of his administration released statements marking the month, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
